For all the non-native speakers of Hindi, a Hindi olympiad is both an achievement as well as a struggle. They need to struggle a lot to complete the syllabus of the Hindi olympiad, which is vast and covers grammar and vocabulary. Some tips/tricks may be helpful for them to crack the exam with flying colors.

To know more about the syllabus for national and international level olympiads, trust NCERT Books Class 7 Hindi. Most olympiads prepare exams from the NCERT syllabus. NCERT covers all the essential concepts relatively easily, which is quick for the candidate to understand and apply.

how to score good marks in hindi exam

1. Practice by Reading a Hindi Newspaper

Start reading a Hindi newspaper daily. This will enable you to understand the native concept of the language and its essence. The Hindi newspapers consider writing technical language, which aids in the preparation of the aspirant. This will also help the candidate in increasing the speed of reading Hindi articles. Olympiads also give some unseen passages to be solved. News articles act as an unseen passage. Candidates can practice for their unseen excerpts from news articles themselves. He can try rewriting the title of the report, summary, tone, and so on for the editorial pieces of the newspaper. These steps will be constructive for the candidate. A significant portion of a competitive language exam is the unseen passages and the questions related to them.

2. Practice by Writing a Page Regularly

Hindi is both easy and challenging when it comes to writing the language. Now it depends on how you speak the language. If you are a native speaker, it is difficult to write the language as everyone has their own dialect while seeing the native language. This native dialect disturbs the technicalities of the language hence making it difficult to be written accurately. But for non-native speakers, whins peaks considering the technicalities of the language find it easy to write the language. Hindi has the edge over other tongues, as every pronunciation in Hindi has something to represent it. And no letter is hidden in any word. Every note that is written gets spoken irrespective of its form.

3. Refer to English to Hindi Dictionary

Dictionary can serve as a valley of knowledge to all the aspirants of the Hindi olympiad. This should always be with aspirants. Every aspirant should spend at least 20 mins daily with the dictionary, trying to know words and adding them to their own dictionary. A better way to learn new words is by preparing flash cards. A flashcard is any small piece of card that can be designed. It has some important notes of the piece of content written. It is generally used by anchors to remember their content. One can also prepare flashcards for themselves and write Hindi words on them. Accompanied by its English translation, synonyms, and its example. This will help them memorize the words. Also, there is an addition to this. Since the candidate has written everything, it is an indication to the brain that the thing is essential. Experts say that anything handwritten gets learned quickly than what is orally attempted to be discovered. So, the candidates should write on the flashcards in their handwriting rather than taking printouts. This is a very unusual practice but a very effective practice. This is best for the students who wish to improve their vocabulary.

4. Listen to Hindi News Channels

Add this to your daily schedule if you are preparing for any exam like the Hindi olympiads. Focus on the crispiness and cruck of every content piece they present. These skills are needed in subjective Hindi papers. This will help you construct a lead over any topic. Lede is the abstract of the article. These skills will also help write a summary and title of an unseen passage in olympiads and competitive exams. These skills not only improve the candidate in technical skills but also increase their general knowledge, which is always good to have.

5. Start Talking in Hindi if Hindi is Not Your Native Language

Any aspirant preparing for competitive exams of any language should find a native speaker of the language and talk to them regularly for five to ten minutes over any topic. Now, this practice improves two aspects of the candidate. One is that they get easy tips and tricks to learn the native language. The second is that they know how to communicate in the language. They will now do and don’t of a language and also understand the culture of the language. This will help them in the future if they wish to visit a place where Hindi is a native language. It gives and edges to the students who are in touch with the native speakers of the language. That is why it is recommended that one learn a language from the native speaker itself, so they tell what is more common rather than what was written in books years ago.

5. Speed of Solving Questions

In Olympiad exams, you have to solve more questions in less time, so your calculation speed should be excellent. Everyone has studied the same syllabus for the same amount of time. Only the one who knows tricks and is quick wins the podium position. SO to crack the podium positions. Make sure that you are ahead of time and manage your time well in the exam. Do not stress over it. Trust yourself and your preparation. All one needs to do is drive time. Spending 5 minds strategizing the paper is far better than wasting time between questions to decide which one to do next. Always keep the natural timepiece of your mind running to maintain an average track of mind and how much time you’re spending on one question. This will help you ace the exam easily without any anxiety and failure.
