1. Photoshop and Image Editing
Photoshop is meant in good intention to enhance images and create beautiful graphics, but somehow it has been misused to manipulate images for fake ID creation. All that’s needed is to have a copy or template of a legitimate ID, then digitally erase text and images and replace it with the faker’s credentials. That way, the serial numbers, and other details remain valid, but the names, photos, addresses, and additional information are fraudulent.

Smarter algorithms and artificial intelligence have made a way to detect duplicates in serial numbers and other character strings, so experts use random hash generators to analyze the pattern of a mass number of legitimate numbers and use it to generate a serial that won’t register as a duplicate, but still fake, nonetheless.
3. Advanced machine learning
AI is double-edged, both used by white hats and black hats for good and evil respectively. Smarter AI’s detect Photoshop manipulation by flagging incorrect fonts and bad image blending of some photos. But experts make use of the same AI to automatically recognize the font typeface and blend the image perfectly such that it won’t be registered as a fake.
